Anne Héry – Advocacy Director, Handicap International

“Congratulations to Défis Humanitaires for the plurality and richness of the speakers and topics. I often find clear and impactful analyses on current humanitarian issues. I particularly appreciate the depth of perspective on the geopolitical context and conflicts. Défis Humanitaires connects all those who advocate for humanitarian action that respects the principles of humanity, impartiality, independence, and neutrality.”

Pierre Brunet – Humanitarian and writer; member of the Comex of Défis Humanitaires

“What, in my opinion, makes Défis Humanitaires a remarkable initiative is its specificity in the humanitarian ‘landscape’: a place of testimony, information, reflection, exchange, and technical or innovation relay… It is a space where humanity, commitment, and principles dialogue with geopolitics, ethical reflection, or even military matters… Where ‘the very urgent, the very concrete, and the very human’ naturally blends with ‘thinking beyond the horizon’… This online magazine is thus, in only 100 editions, an indispensable and recognized actor in this constantly evolving and questioning humanitarian field that must ‘remain connected’ to the reality… of today… and tomorrow…

For me, after more than thirty years of humanitarian engagement, first in the field, then at headquarters, and finally within the governance of a major French NGO, being part of the ‘Comex’ of Défis Humanitaires and regularly publishing articles there is a natural extension and deepening of my initial commitment… I also have the pleasure of reconnecting with the founder and ‘boss’ of this online magazine, Alain Boinet, whom I worked with for many years within this large French NGO (which he had already founded…) and who was, in a way, my ‘Sensei’ (‘Master’ in martial arts) in the practice of humanitarian work… The human and useful adventure continues…”

Antoine Vaccaro – President of CERPHI and Force For Good

“As a regular reader and contributor, I consider Défis Humanitaires a useful and valuable resource for understanding the challenges and developments of humanitarian action in a transforming world.

Through enlightening analyses, field interviews, and well-documented geopolitical perspectives, this media gives a voice to humanitarian actors and observers. One finds a rigorous approach, a free tone, and constant attention to field realities.

I commend the commitment of the editorial team and the quality of the work accomplished.”

Véronique Sentilhes-Browne – Development & Philanthropy

“Alain.

Défis Humanitaires regularly provides insight into crises by giving a voice to experts, and to the men and women working in the field. More than ever, in the era of fake news, and propaganda spreading at the speed of light on social media, it is essential to have reliable information that combines diverse points of view.

Humanitarian aid has changed considerably since the 1980s and will continue to evolve, so that even in times of crisis, every human being can maintain their dignity and identity, and our world can continue to preserve all its cultural richness. However, this will remain a struggle because every crisis is complex.

Défis Humanitaires, launched in 2018 by experts, with these 100 issues, is becoming a reference.

To increase its reach, Défis Humanitaires would need to structure itself as a platform to foster interactions between experts, improve the accessibility of this information, and keep it updated. This reliable source could feed major media and influencers all the way to decision-makers. Generative AI could help this scaling process.

More than a testimony, this is a call to young people who master these new technologies and want to get involved to continue promoting humanitarian aid and helping vulnerable populations. We can all one day be part of it. Let us never forget what our parents, grandparents, or families have experienced, or are currently experiencing.”
